About Me

MandarinEnglish
My therapeutic approach is client-centred, at the heart of my work is the belief that therapeutic relationship itself can be very powerful in the process of healing. Therefore, I strive to establish a safe, nonjudgmental and trusting relationship with clients so we explore the experiences and feelings together. I believe that every individual is the expert of their own life, and my role is to walk alongside clients as they navigate challenges, develop insight, and discover strengths that support meaningful change.

While my practice is rooted in person-centred values, I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychodynamic perspectives. This integrative approach allows me to tailor therapy to each client's unique needs and goals.

As a 1.5-generation immigrant, I moved to Canada with my family during early adulthood. Like many immigrants, I experienced questions surrounding identity, belonging, and adaptation while learning to balance the cultural values and expectations I brought from home with those I encountered here. To further explore these issues, I became personally involved in supporting Asian immigrant Communities and actively joined community-based researches.

I have experience working with adolescents and young adults. In my work with youth, I recognize the important role that family relationships and dynamics play in shaping emotional well-being, identity development, and resilience. I also work with university students and emerging adults facing academic stress, career uncertainty, interpersonal relationship challenges, and major life transitions, including the move from school to the workplace.

It takes courage to reach out for support and to explore the parts of ourselves that may feel vulnerable or uncertain. If you're here, you've already taken an important first step, and that courage can be a powerful foundation for healing and change.
